E-PORTFOLIO
REFLECTION
Finally - all the work is done.
In the following I would like to explain the whole process of creating my e-portfolio. This includes the beginning, the design of my website, the writing part and giving my creative chaos a structure for the different projects. Last but not least I will present my time management and reflect the whole process.
WHERE EVERYTHING STARTED
After receiving the task to design an e-portfolio, I was shocked and excited at the same time. It seemed like a challenge to put four different lectures into one portfolio, to build up a website and to create four different, practical projects in such a short amount of time. Nevertheless I started to read all the instruction and watched the introduction video.
WEBSITE DESIGN
After setting up a plan, I started with my favorite thing to do - being creative, collecting ideas and designing a website. As I usually use Wordpress, it was a new experience for me to work with another tool and decided to use WIX. Moreover, I tried to create a design, which represents my characteristics. This includes being creative, working with many pictures and videos I already have from different shootings and my current work, creating new content as well as designing a layout which is fun to watch but also structured at the same time.
WRITING PART & PROJECTS
So the overall structure of my website design was finished and ready to bring it to life. First of all I started with my BIO and the writing part of the different topics and lectures. At the same time I tried to collect ideas for the practical projects. The results of this process lead to many ideas and a hard decisions to choose the best ideas. After I have chosen my ideas for each project, I tried to convert my ideas into reality. I used different tools. For the editing of the pictures I used Lightroom, for the videos Premiere Pro and InsShot. Have a look at my e-portfolio to see the outcome!
TIME MANAGEMENT AND REFLECTION
As already mentioned, I set up an overall plan for the whole e-portfolio at the beginning. This helped me to achieve my milestones. I already started with the project in April and finished it up in the beginning of June. There are for sure some parts that can be improved, but I am satisfied with the outcome. In my opinion the e-portfolio is a good way to combine and moreover improve your skill set, because you have to organize yourself, be creative, rethink things and grow beyond yourself.
And always remember - life is a mountain, not a beach!
